How Leading Lawyers Think: Expert Insights Into Judgment and Advocacy

Lurie, Ilchert, MacDonnell & Ryan

All attorneys are expected to know the law, the rules of the Court and the proper procedures to follow in litigating a case. The importance of the book, How Leading Lawyers Think: Expert Insights Into Judgment and Advocacy, is that it deals with the array of skills necessary to go beyond the simple handling of a case. In other words, to successfully handle a case. This involves the ability to know when to settle a case and when to go to trial, the key factors in properly evaluating a case and the strategy of negotiation. The book concludes that truly skilled attorneys know how to properly frame the issues of a case, both liability and damages, understand a juror's persctive and develop persuasive themes to achieve results for their clients. It was an honor to be selected in this study and to have contributed to its substance.
