Dennis A. Breen was born and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. After high school, he attended SUNY Brockport where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. Following undergraduate school, he obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching from SUNY Binghamton. He is also a certified social studies teacher.

Following graduate school, Dennis went to law school at the University of Dayton School of Law where he graduated in two-and-a-half years while working as a legal research associate at LexisNexis. After graduation, Dennis worked at a number of defense firms providing insurance defense to litigants.

West published a formbook authored by Dennis in conjunction with John Moore, and the New York Law Journal has published an article of Risk Retention Groups authored by Dennis. He has also authored countless motions and appeals over the years, as well as trying a large number of cases to verdict.

Presently, Dennis is married, has two children, and resides in New Jersey. Dennis was an Independent Candidate for the United States Congress seat for the 7th Congressional District in 2012. He has proudly been at Lurie, Ilchert, MacDonnell & Ryan since 2004.
